At Movement Refined, I’ll inspire you to do the same. For the past 20+ years, I’ve devoted myself to continuously learning, sharing, and living the art and science of classical Pilates as established by Joseph Pilates in the early 1900s. I had the honor of studying with Joseph’s protege, Romana Kryzanowska, who spent 40 years under his close and careful tutelage and who carried on the inspiration and integrity of his Pilates instruction after his passing.
Romana altered the trajectory of my life when she whispered into my ear, “I think you’re brave.”
And I’ll let you in on a little secret: I think you’re brave, too. I think we all are… if we’re willing to dig deeply. I created this video series because I believe there’s a misconception about Pilates…that it’s too pretty, too complex, or too inaccessible. None of that is true.
Pilates builds functional strength, increases overall physical health, and allows unprecedented freedom of movement. It is practiced by both dancers and NFL players, by elite athletes and those striving to heal their bodies and enhance their quality of life… people like you and me.
And I promise — if done right — Pilates will make you sweat.
These videos represent a culmination of my life’s work, and they provide you the opportunity to become longer, leaner, stronger, empowered, courageous, fierce. No matter your current fitness or training level, your body type, your sex, your age, or your background, you can safely establish and develop your functional strength and full body connection while you become uniformly developed. As a certified Pilates instructor, I’ll guide you through your journey with proven expertise.
